What are the longest profiles Metal Union can make?
In the roll forming process, there are no strict limits on profile length. Thanks to our technology, we can produce elements of various lengths.
In actual practice, we usually supply profiles whose length ranges from 200 to 6000 mm, but other variants are also available, depending on the requirements of the project and logistic capabilities.
What is the minimum volume required to launch the production of a new profile?
To manufacture a new profile, we need to design and make dedicated forming rollers, which involves a considerable amount of time and cost.
That is why the expected minimum volume for new profiles is approximately 100,000 metres a year. This makes the implementation process reasonable and economically feasible both for the client and the manufacturer.
Can roll forming be used for input materials with a surface finish (paint coating, zinc plating, polished surface, nickel plating)?
Yes, Metal Union has the experience and technical resources required to form sheets with a surface finish. Thanks to the correct selection of tools and precise material guidance, we can preserve the high quality of the surface without damaging it during production.
Can I order a custom profile based on my own design?
Yes, we make custom profiles. We can work with the documentation you provide or assist you with the design process – we have our own design department and tool shop.
What materials can be used to make profiles?
We specialise in the manufacture of profiles from finished painted sheets and stainless steel with a thickness of 0.15 mm or more. We also work with black steel, galvanised steel, aluminium, and other materials.
